    Description

Estate sale find, vintage real photo postcard of the armored cruiser South Dakota and her sister ship the Peublo.
The second USS Colorado (ACR-7/CA-7) was renamed the USS Pueblo, a Pennsylvania-class armored cruiser.
During WWI the Colorado name was now available for the new class of battleships.  After her overhaul, the Peublo returned to full commission upon the entry into WWI, patrolling the South Atlantic, protecting shipping, paying diplomatic calls to South American ports, and preventing the sailing of German and Austrian ships interned at Bahia, Brazil.
The Pueblo returned to Norfolk, Virginia in 1918, and made seven voyages to escort convoys carrying men and supplies to England.  After the war she made six voyages between Hoboken and Brest, France, to bring home veterans of the American Expeditionary Force.
The card measures approximately 3.5" X 5.5" overall, shipping weight approximately 3 ounces.
PLEASE SEE PHOTOS FOR ADDITIONAL DETAILS -  The postcard is in overall Good used condition, unposted, some signs of wear, rubbing, soiling, age toning, fading, no writing, no odors, please see images.
