Description
Relatively speaking, Dunhill didn't make a ton of Canadians, but when they did they knocked it out of the park like with this 1978 Bruyere shape 61091 that remains unsmoked! Hard to imagine keeping this gorgeous pipe untouched for 43 years yet it comes complete with original box, gold lettered sock and guarantee certificate. Dunhill's shape "09" was made in every Group size if I recall with this one the largest of them all, a Group 6. At 6 3/4" long it is lightweight and well balanced for its size. It sports hefty proportions throughout but somehow still displays an elegant profile. The stout bowl sits firmly yet comfortably in hand with ultra thick walls surrounding a deep and generous chamber. The bowl widens a touch near the base before transitioning to a long and wide oval shank that tapers a touch to meet the original vulcanite stem with slight fishtail bit and crisp white spot. The Bruyere finish is as beautiful as ever, a rich ruby red with a hint of burgundy while the grain displays stunning birdseye on the flanks with fine cross grain to the front and rear. Awaiting its maiden voyage, a special offering indeed and certainly not to be missed!**This will be the 3rd time this pipe is listed due to non-payers overseas.
