  • Condition: This is a real deal 1967 Big Block Chevrolet engine block. The casting number is 3902406. The casting date is L 5 6 which decodes as December 5th, 1966. The 3902406 block was used exclusively for late 1966 -1967 396 engines. This is a very hard to find late 1966 block.The pad on this block is stamped TI227IN L7131495 as shown. The TI227IN shows that this engine was assembled at the Tonowanda engine plant on December 27th, 1966 as a 396/325HP engine for a 1967 Chevrolet fullsize car with a automatic transmission and CA SMOG. The L7141495 is the partial VIN of the car the block was originally installed in. This block is in good condition as shown. There are no breaks or repairs to this block. The bore size is .060 over and the bores are very clean with no ridge at the tops of the cylinders as shown. There are no sleeves in any cylinders. All threads are in good condition with a no helicoils or thread inserts. The block has been checked for cracks and none were found.

    This is a real deal 1967 Big Block Chevrolet engine block. The casting number is 3902406. The casting date is L 5 6 which decodes as December 5th, 1966. The 3902406 block was used exclusively for late 1966 -1967 396 engines. This is a very hard to find late 1966 block for early in the 1967 model year.
    The pad on this block is stamped TI227IN L7131495 as shown. The TI227IN shows that this engine was assembled at the Tonowanda engine plant on December 27th, 1966 as a 396/325HP engine for a 1967 Chevrolet fullsize car with a automatic transmission and CA SMOG. The L7141495 is the partial VIN of the car the block was originally installed in.

Cylinders #1 and #3 have some light isolated corrosion stains as shown which will not effect function. There are no sleeves in any cylinders. All threads are in good condition with a no helicoils or thread inserts. The block has been checked for cracks and none were found.
    This is a great block to build for performance or restoration.
    Since this block started life as an 325HP engine, it has 2 bolt main caps. That said, Big Block Chevy blocks are pretty straight forward to convert to 4 bolt since the main caps use the same size saddle whether they are 2 or 4 bolt. This is simply a nice unmolested block that is ready to build for a correct resto or performance build.
