    Description

    Item up for sale is the original and complete edition of the, December 6th, 1975, New York Daily News newspaper; the lead story of the day concerned the ongoing investigation into the July 30th, 1975, disappearance of International Brotherhood of Teamsters leader, James Riddle Hoffa, from the parking lot of Red Fox Restaurant, in Bloomfield Township, a suburb of Detroit. Hoffa a rough and tumble guy had taken the Teamsters from less than a hundred thousand members to well over a million after the second World war. But, Hoffa would become involved with the Mafia along the way, once in, he could never extricate himself from the group. It was well known that he was to meet with mobster Anthony Provenzano (Tony Pro) a Captain in the Genovese Family and Anthony Giacalone  (Tony Jack) a Captain in the Detroit faction. He was never seen alive after that meet. This newspaper reports of  a "jailhouse snitch,"  who told the Feds that the body of a certain mobster named Armand Faugno was buried in a 55 gallon drum in a 44 acre tract of land on Sipp Avenue under the Pulaski Skyway bridge, near Jersey City, but the Feds deduced that the victim was in all probability the abducted Teamster President. Hoffa's disappearance remains a mystery until this day, but most believe that he ended up in a landfill in New Jersey as previously reported. This is a nice collectors item, suitable for framing. It is described above. This 43 year old newspaper is both original and complete at 28 pages.
